The Three Graces, three women from classical mythology, have long represented beauty, unity and togetherness.

I was inspired by Sandro Botticelli’s celebrated painting Primavera, which I saw at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. Painted around 1480–1482, Primavera features the Three Graces dancing together in one of the most recognisable scenes of Renaissance art.

I chose to paint my own interpretation of this part of Botticelli’s masterpiece, exploring the graceful movement and timeless symbolism of the three women while drawing on the beauty and traditions of Renaissance painting.
