Looking up at a steep cliff from the calm warm waters of Lawn Hill Gorge, in far north outback Queensland, Australia. This beautiful oasis is nestled hours far north of Mt Isa, in the middle of vast flat desert. The Gorge’s rocky outcrops are dotted with lush tropical vegetation. The artist was canoeing to take this photo. Floods decimated this serene place in 2023, and it is very slowly recovering.
